EA 219 Soft Pad Task Chair by Vitra
The iconic, yet understated design of Charles and Ray Eames’s Soft Pad Chairs date from 1969. The models EA 217 and EA 219 are the office swivel chairs in the Soft Pad Group by Charles and Ray Eames. The extraordinary comfort of the chairs results from the combined effect of their tilt mechanism, which can be adjusted to the user’s height and weight, and the soft cushioned upholstery.
The higher backrest of EA 219 distinguishes it from the Soft Pad Chair EA 217.

Backrest and seat in sewn-on cushions with polyurethane foam upholstered in classic Vitra Fabric, Leather or Premium Leather with topstitching.
Armrests & five star swivel base in die-cast aluminium, with a polished or chrome-plated finish or powder-coated in deep black.
Adjustable backward tilt, lockable in the forward position. Continuous seat height adjustment with gas spring.
Equipped with hard castors for carpet or soft castors for hard floors. Castor covers in black for polished and black powder-coated base, with chrome-plated finish for chrome base.
